What is a Random Variable? The real number assigned to each outcome of space is known as Random Variable.

In other words, it is a function that associates a real number with each element of the sample space.

Types

Random varibale are of two types

1. Discreate Random Varibale
2. Continuous Random Variable.

Discreate Random Variables:

A random variable x is said to be discreate random variable if its set of possible outcomes are countable i.e. having a specific value.

=>p(x=a) (probability of x at a)

Continuous Random Variable

A random variable x is said to be Continuous random variable if its set of possible outcomes is lies in between a specific range.

=> F(x) p(a<=x<=b)
